We have unearthed a truly magnificent artisan Rum with Cask number 1 Rotation number R01917 from the family owned and operated distillery of Oliver y Oliver in Santo Domingo on the south coast of the Dominican Republic.
The islands rich history of sugar cane production stems back to Christopher Columbus and Rum making soon followed so expect this Dominican Republic Rum to be sophisticated and smooth with tones of crème brulee, vanilla and a delicate buttery finish.
The rich, dark colour of this Rum is a reflection of the many years it has spent maturing in wood. Originally placed into American Oak, ex-Bourbon casks this Rum remained in the Dominican Republic tropically ageing in the warm humidity of the Caribbean for eight years before being shipped to the cooler climate of the UK where it was re-casked into an ex-Rum cask for further maturation before being bottled by House of Rum in 2023.
